Blood Bank Section Head

Meriter Laboratories, located in Madison, WI, is currently recruiting for a full-time Blood Bank Section Head. This incumbent will plan, organize, staff, direct, and control laboratory testing, personnel activities, inventory, and equipment.

Minimum requirements include Bachelor’s degree in biological science, medical technology, or equivalent.  3-5 years of previous professional experience required. Previous management experience preferred.

Job Title: Technical Supervisor, Transfusion Service Laboratory

Job Description: Full Time- Salaried

We are in search of a Technical Supervisor with at least 5 years previous blood bank experience to join our team. The ideal candidate shall possess strong leadership skills for overseeing operations in a hospital transfusion service. Technical and problem solving skills in routine blood bank testing and in antibody identification along with previous experience with regulatory guidelines and AABB's Quality program is preferred. Experience with automation, finance/budgeting and a working knowledge of computer systems a plus.

A Bachelor of Science degree in laboratory science or related field along with certification from a nationally recognized certification agency  is required e.g. MT(ASCP)SBB, MT(ASCP)BB, MS,MT(ASCP), or MT(ASCP). A Specialist in Blood Bank is preferred but not required.
